And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it. His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing a white as snow. And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men. But the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay."
(Matthew 28:2-6)

Greetings in Christ's Holy name!

I recently received this letter from a gentleman that I have known for many years. This is what he wrote:

Hello Fr. David!

I want to thank you for your encouragement during this critical time of my recovery. I had prayed to God to bless me with Christian friends. This prayer was while I was still in the detox/rehab unit. When I got home and began going to a support group for my ongoing after care, the Lord answered my prayer by bringing you back into my life.

Fr. Dave, God used you to provide hope for me back in 1975, at that Christian coffee house where you were playing a guitar and sharing your personal testimony. I was searching for a way out of the addiction that plagued my life. You helped me get into a Christian program - away from my immediate environment. Remember Teen Challenge? Little did I know that many positive changes would occur in the coming years, as well as some painful growth experiences.

The words of wisdom you've shared with me when I've needed someone to talk to, have been the right thing at the right time. Thanks! For “being there.” I still look forward to the quality time that you share with me.

May God bless you and your family with the good and precious treasures from His riches. Gratefully, your friend and brother in Christ, Ernie.

I hope that this Lenten season has been one of spiritual renewal and growth. As you can see, your prayers and support do make a difference. Thank you for "being there".

May you have a blessed Pascha!
Fr. David Ogan
